How To Pack A Diaper Bag For Two Babies
Share
Going from one baby to two can be a massive adjustment, not just in your life, but in your diaper bag! Unless you want to start bringing a suitcase with you everywhere you go you need to learn how to pack for two babies in one bag. Don’t worry though, we are here to offer you tips and tricks to keep your diaper bag organized and utilized.
Top Tips When Packing For Two Kids
Before you get packing your bag, make a pile for each child, and yourself. Having everything laid out and organized before it goes into the bag can also help you take a mental image of everything your diaper bag contains.
Keep Separate
One of the top tips we can offer is to separate each child’s items and keep them as compact as possible. For example, pack a separate outfit, additional diaper, and favorite blankie wrapped up together. This way you can keep track of how many diapers each child has gone through and keep their stuff organized and all together.
Assign Pockets
Choose a section of your diaper bag that belongs to a specific child. Consider putting the older child or toddler’s stuff in the back pocket since they might only need an emergency diaper, change of clothes, and their vegan leather baby bib. This way the infant’s diapers, receiving blankets, vegan leather changing mat, and additional outfits are in the main compartment and easy to grab.
Leave one of the pockets or compartments for items both kids might need. This is where we like to keep our baby wipes, snacks, and toys. These are things that aren’t always needed but can come in handy and save the day.
Clean Out Often
With multiple children, a diaper bag can become a dumping ground for old receipts, dirty pacifiers, dirty clothes, etc. The more often you clean out your diaper bag and repack the more organized you’ll feel when out and about. Remove unnecessary items as your kids get older as well. You no longer need to pack 15 diapers around for a two-year-old and four-year-old.
Pack For One Day Only
What we mean is, don’t pack your diaper bag full of a week’s worth of items. Focus rather on the specific items your kids will need just for that day. This helps keep your bag organized and stops you from overpacking. It is always the worst when you know you packed something but have to rip the bag apart to find it.
Have your all-the-time items and always pack them in the same spot. This helps you go for the right pocket each time, reducing your time digging in the diaper bag.
Leave Enough Room For Mom
It’s important that there is room for all of mom’s items in the diaper bag as well. We designed the Yuuma bag so mom will love it for herself as much as she will love it for her kids. With plenty of pockets and a bottom compartment, there are plenty of spots mom can keep a water bottle, snacks, lip balm, and maybe even a sweater or scarf.
Baby Basket In Car
While the Yuuma diaper bag has room for everything you will need, sometimes it’s nice to not feel like you're carrying a bag full of things you might not need. This is why we leave some items like additional diapers, wipes, toys, jackets, blankets, hats, and mittens in our car in an organized basket. The peace of mind this basket brings parents offers them the confidence to take the kids out on more adventures.
Must-Have Diaper Bag Items
When organizing your diaper bag make a checklist of things the infant needs, the toddler needs, and that both will need. This will help you keep everything organized and together for each child. The Yuuma diaper bag has so many pockets there will even be space for all of Mom’s needs as well.
